其實一般來說, 當你學到四、五級水準的時候, 理論上你所學到的歌應該會包含最少三個時期的作品, 以下是你應該會接觸到的作曲家 / 你應該會彈過 / 用過的書:

1) Baroque Period巴羅克時期 - Bach巴哈、Handel韓德爾, etc.
- 最少你應該彈過First lesson of Bach

2) Classical Period古典時期 - Mozart莫札特、Hayen海頓、Beethoven貝多芬, etc.
- 最少你應該彈緊Sonatina, 不論邊個作曲家都好

3) Romantic Period浪漫時期 - Chopin蕭邦、Brahms布拉姆斯、柴可夫斯基, etc.
- More Romantic Pieces, Children Pieces等書都有不少此時期作品

當你聽首歌個陣, 只要嘗試將佢同你所彈過的歌曲聯繫在一起, 就會很容易分得出。如果你的音樂老師本身指導得好的話, 會講過每個時期的彈法以及織體 (texture, 亦都你五級Aural要考的範圍) 都有各具特色, 例如Baroque的感覺較保守, 旋律大細聲起伏不大; 但Romantic Period的彈法較多rubato彈性速度, 旋律非常富詠唱性
