Statistician can work for the Govt, insurance companies as actuaries or marketing research companies. Computer engineers can work for a variety of companies as you can name them.
The latter offers a wider prospect in terms of career but may not guarantee very promising pay.

Depends on your choice, Some people study med. but did not become doctor What you study does not mean you will do the job at the same field.
