QantasLink operates two aircraft types:

Boeing 717 jets, and
DeHavilland Dash 8 turboprop aircraft.

During 2006, QantasLink took delivery of seven new 72 seat Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 aircraft. Flying at 360 knots, the Q400 operates at jet-like speed giving QantasLink the ability to increase capacity and reduce flight times.

Aircraft six and seven operate in New South Wales on the Canberra-Sydney route. This $200 million investment in new aircraft is a reflection of the Qantas Group's commitment to regional Australia.
Expanded Boeing 717 Fleet
QantasLink will expand their Boeing 717-200 fleet from eight to 11 aircraft. This will increase their total jet and turboprop fleet to 49 aircraft, which will increase the frequency and capacity on routes in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and North Queensland.
The first of the three additional 115-seat aircraft will be based in Perth from August 2007. The other two aircraft will commence services from October 2007 on routes yet to be determined. The aircraft will be operated by National Jet Systems as part of an ongoing agreement.
