Sony Hi8 NTSC cassette tape conversion

What is the best and most economic way to convert Sony Hi8 NTSC (US Standard) cassette tape to DVD? My old camcorder is dead and the conversion service is very expensive.

I had the same problem two years ago. I bought a Hi8 player from a 2nd hand AV equipment shop and convert all my Hi8 tapes to DVD's. If you want I can sell my Hi8 player to you.
