I think you have to make it by yourself.
1. Let say you are working on a book in A4 horizontal size, then create a new file in the size of A3 vertical, check off 'Facing Pages'.
2. Then go to the Master page, draw a guideline from the top ruler to the center.
3. Draw a dotted line next to the guide line outside the board, one at the left, and one at the right hand side.
4. Since these 2 dotted lines are outside the board, you have to group them together, so that they will appear on each page of the book and this acts as a folding line/spine of your book.
Hope you will get it.

Indeed, you won't get the benefit of using the function auto page no. in the way that I suggested before.I have an experience of making a book in a normal way (with vertical binding). The printer preferred to have a pdf file instead of the inDesign document. And they asked me to export

the InDesign file to pdf with spreads check off, but checked the crop marks and bleed, so as every page had its own crop marks and bleeding. And they did the binding.Perhaps, you just create a document in horizontal and check off facing pages,

that is, work on the book page by page. For those pages have pictures/text across the spreads, you may do these in Illustrator and place in back to InDesign file as you did. And check with your printer, they may be able to do the binding for you.
