Boog's answer is correct but not Cr Accounts receivable/debtors $18,400 as given by onlinechow. the account should be stated as Impairment on Trade Receivables and not Provision for Doubtful Debts as defined by new accounting standard issued by HKICPA. Please clarify it with your teacher.

對於‘Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts’是Balance sheet item 還是 Profit and loss item, 我是有少許懷疑，但我認為是Balance sheet item 多一點
即是說‘Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts’＝‘Provision for doubtful debts’
這個account是以撥備形式來減低帳目中實記的accounts receivable 應該是credit balance,
出現debit balance, 應該WRITE OFF佐D A/R 做BAD DEBTS , 但之前的撥備不足所致，所以這$300 應該TRANSFER TO BAD DEBTS A/C
