Folic acid

Most of the miscarriage is due to the developemental problem of the fetus/baby. By natural selection , those fetus/baby with serious congenital abnormality will have spontaneous abortion (miscarriage).
The use of Folic acid in pregnant woman is to make sure that the growing fetus have adequate folic acid (which is important for the developing brain and spinal cord). As a result, doctor give folic acid to those woman is to make sure they have adequate folic acid and at the same time prepare their body reseve of folic acid for another child if they decide to do so!
