WORTH

the importance or usefulness of something or someone:

1.He felt as though he had no worth.
2.She has proved her worth on numerous occasions.
3.The study proved that women were paid less than men holding jobs of comparable worth.


WORTHY

deserving respect, admiration or support:

1.He is unlikely to succeed in getting his bill through Congress, however worthy it is.
Every year she makes a large donation to a worthy cause.


WORTHWHILE

useful, important or beneficial enough to be a suitable reward for the money or time spent or the effort made:

1.She considers teaching a worthwhile career.
2.The time and expense involved in keeping up to date with all the changes has been worthwhile.
3.If you need him on this project, you've got to make it financially worthwhile for him (= you will have to pay him a suitable amount of money for the amount of work involved).
