adapt用作適合、使適合、使適應的意思時，後面的介詞(preposition)就要用to；而用作改編、改寫、改建、改造的事候就要用for如：He adapted himself to the new school life.（他使自己適應新的學校）
He has not yet to adapted to the climate（他還未適應這氣候）
The boys adapted the old barn for use by the club.(孩子們將這個舊穀倉改造成為俱樂部用房。)
