" Liberal Studies aims to broaden students’ knowledge base and enhance their social awareness through the study of a wide range of issues. The modules selected for the curriculum focus on themes of significance to students, society and the world, designed to enable students to make connections across different fields of knowledge and to broaden their horizons. The learning experiences provided will foster students’ capacity for life-long learning, so that they can face the challenges of the future with confidence. "
There are three main areas of studies:
1. Self and Personal Development
2. Society and Culture
3. Science, Technology and the Environment
Topics studied include:
Personal Development and Interpersonal Relationships
Hong Kong Today
Modern China
Globalization
Public Health
Energy Technology and the Environment

There may not be a formal exam. for this subject.
In many schools, assessment is based on Projects and Course Work.

通識教育強調在學習過程中，鼓勵學生著重多元分析，目的是培養學生正確的價值觀、
世界觀及公民意識，是一種「全人」的學習。「全人」是指學生既有實際的知識，亦有內在的
修養。
通識教育強調學習過程、思考及分析。通識教育是鼓勵學生討論問題，去尋找、思考及分析答案，把學到的知識融入生活上，而不是只在答題紙上。
