通淋巴=lymphatic drainage是指用人為操作或按摩來減少淋巴的膨脹，把膨脹區域中累積過多的流體移走。手動淋巴引流療法必須擅長治療淋巴水腫的人來作，或是專精淋巴引流療法的按摩治療師來作。
可能引起淋巴水腫的情形包括，靜脈曲張血管手術、整形手術、乳癌等手術後的肢體脹大，因傷害造成的水腫和炎性風濕症等，這些都可以通過淋巴引流療法得到緩解。
