I have not heard the term so called "Burn printing," however for a transfer printing that a hot iron is used to transfer printed patterns from a transfer paper into fabric (or usually for cotton tee)
The process of transfer printing:
A transfer paper(like a wax paper) first pre-painted for a pattern or motive of lacquer type, the paper with the pattern or motive side putting attach to fabric (or cotton tee), and using hot iron press on the paper back, the pattern then migrate from the transfer paper to the fabric (or cotton tee) , the pattern will be firmly printed on the fabric after it is cool.
Or
I try to understand the term "Burn Printing" like this
Maybe it is not a real COLOR printing process but a process is to burnout (or melt out) a fabric for pattern effects that some portions allowed see-through ( with hole effects) and some portions remained unchanged.
For example a fabric made of CVC(cotton60% +polyester40%) core spun yarns, you can use acid to dissovle cotton part only, then polyester fiber is remained on the fabric, eventually pattern effects could be obtained
