貨櫃的外型花紋 ?

貨櫃箱需要負載很大的重量。這個凹凸紋設計(俗稱作瓦通紋)，可以加強受面的強度，貨物的壓力可以卸去不同的坑面上。
這個設計基本上是力學上的特性，在美觀而言則各花入各眼，而且瓦通紋只有一種模式，所以在形象變化上不靈活，實用性頗強。
其他有應用瓦通紋來加強負重的物件，包括天橋躉旁邊的瓦通坑紋和臨時圍牆(temporary hoarding)，以瓦通牆身來抵御旁邊泥土或建築物的重量。

they are the corrugation to increase the strength of the container walls so they don't buckle when they are stacked on top of each other

it's like you cannot really rest any weight on the edge of a piece of paper when you stand it up on the other edge, but if you fold it into 一條條凹凸 shape then you can stand it up and rest weight on top of it
