HKCEE question , about examine personal reaction time by release the ruler.
2000,Q7(a)(ii)

If a heavier ruler is used, how would result of the above test be affected?
explan your answer.

The answer is No. why????

If there is air resistance,
i think heavier ruler will have greater acceleration than lighter ruler.
but the question didn't reveal if there is any air resistance.
Should I have to ignore the air resistance to answer the question?
please answer question ,thx!!!

yes, you should ignore it
in your level
most of the air resistance should be ignored (the hkcee paper have written)
the reason is for simplification
but in a higher level (AL)
air resistance would involve in calculation
and your idea is correct!!!
