The lenght is look shorten, it does not mean it is really shortened. This is also same as the mass. The increase of mass does not imply any change or not in lenght or others physical properties.
If you are on fast moving train, you will find the whole world is shortened. But you will not feel your train is shortened, but people on the ground will find your train is shortened.
This is the result of different of the simultaneously (同時), The simultaneous on the train is different than that on the ground.
The change in mass is telling you that mass=energy, the total energy of a particle / object is mc^2, where m is the mass of the object (not rest mass). As you increrase the speed of the object, it gains in kinetic energy, as energy is mass and vice the verse, you are increasing the total energy (mass).
eg, If you are moving a 1 kg box in 100km/hr, then
100km/hr=27.8m/s
speed of light is 3 x 10^8 m/s (c)
100km/h = 9.26 x 10^-8 c
change in mass =m/[1-(v/c)^2] - m=1.8 x 10^-17 kg
This change in mass is about 10^10 hydrogen atoms, while there is ~10^23 atom in 1L of gas in rtp. The change is very small
If you are in 0.9c, then the change will be 4.26 kg, (total mass 5.26 kg).
