Autonomic nervous system responses do not equate to free will vs. destiny. Kind of like saying that if you are a republican you can never vote for a democrat.
If you have no free will, then why do we put people in jail for crimes? God made them do it, as he controls all, created all, right? The devil made them do it? God made the devil.
That's bad logic. Just because you can't control your heart rate, doesn't mean a person doesn't have free will. I also can't control Niagara Falls.
However, if you want to argue that free will doesn't exist, then you could suppose that everything a person does is just a predetermined response based on their genetics and environment -- both past and present.
Hi there.. well thats a loaded question scuse' the pun.
I think that most people try to "fit in", and a bit regimented.. nothing wrong with that.. I think it's called self preservation maybe.
But others find that they want to question things they think are wrong.. i.e. war, human rights and animal rights and a lot more.
Those people that go along with they system are ok.. just want a quiet life. But those that change things are the ones that have lost lives, loved ones, but most of all made a difference to the world in general.
Not bad eh.. its a knock on effect I suppose.. what do you think?
As far as stopping my heart, my free will says don't or your daughter would be on her own in this sad world..
it is programmed for free will. you make your own decision. thats not a voluntary muscle anyway, so you cant stop beating your heart. nobody can make you do things, you choose what you want to do, which is free will.
