In the past,people used trees or floating woods to cross rivers.The clever Romans built some beautiful bridges to help people cross rivers.The bridges were built by stone.Therefore,some of them cam still be used now.
The Ronmans also built bridges with semi-circular arches so that boats could go through.
1.How did people cross rivers in the past?
2.Why did the Romans built bridges with semi-cirrcular arhes?
