May and June are not peak season. So the price for package is not very expensive. Air ticket is around $1000 (China Airlines) to $1400 (Cathay Pacific). And as for hotel, assume that you stay there for 4 days and two people share one room. Then each of you need to pay $1200 (3 stars) to $2200 (5 stars). As for food and transport, it's around $200 to $300 a day if you do not go very far, just stay in Taipei (city centre). It's very likely that you may need to prepare around $5500 to $7500 for your Taiwan trip each person. (everything included)

I think the most important thing is about the visa and passport. Make sure everybody can get Taiwan visa once they arrive. You need to prepare money for airport and petroleum tax. The agent will collect it for you in advance. And you need to change Taiwan money in Taipei airport too. Remember to check the exchange rate in banks in HK first.
