1)Ricky buys a calculator for $135.If its original price is $150, what percentage of the original price does he save in buying the calculator?
2)In a Mathematics test, Sandy attempted 18 multiple choice questions which comprised 75% questions of the test paper.What is the number of question she did not attempt?
3)Chris takes 3 hours 1 minutes to complete a Marathon race this year. The time he needed is 12% less than that in last year. Find the time Chris needed to complete the race last year.

1) ($150-$135)/$150 x 100% = $15/$150 x 100% = 10%

2) The no. of total questions in the test: 18/0.75 = 24
The no. of questions Sandy did not attempt = 24-18 = 6
or = 24 X (1-75%) = 24 X 25% = 24 x 0.25 =6


3) 3 hours and 1 minute = 181 minutes
Time Chris needed to complete the race last year = 181 minutes/ (1-12%)
= 181 minutes / 88%
= 181 minutes / 0.88
= 205.68 minutes
( or 3 hours 25.68 minutes)
