I just returned from Tokyo yesterday. Most of the shops/ deparment stores will have their last big sale next week (late July). And they will start to sell autumn items early August. However, some department stores or shops (such as Tobu, Seibu and O1O1 City in Ikebukuro) will have their price-down sale until mid-August for all remaining items. So you can still buy some discounted items in mid-aug. Just that the items are not in very high/ good quality since most good items are sold out.l

I suggest you go to the event hall of each department store in mid-aug to look for price-down items (usually in 7th to 10th floor) because they have regular sales there. I went there last year in early August. Agnes B, Tsumori Chisanto, As know as.......brands were on sale (50% yo 70% off). Good luck and enjoy your shopping!
