Hope可以係動詞(verb)，又可以係名詞(noun)。作為動詞和名詞，它都可以解做「希望」。例句：
﹝動詞﹞I hope that I can win the game.
﹝名詞﹞Where there is hope, there is a way.
Hopeful是一個形容詞，hopefully是一個副詞，是用來形容動詞的詞語，hopefulness是一個名詞，都解作「滿懷希望」。
例句：
I am hopeful that he will arrive early tomorrow.
Hopefully, he will arrive early tomorrow.
It is full of hopefulness that he will arrive early tomorrow. ﹝我覺得這個字比較少用。﹞
Hopeless是一個形容詞，hopelessly是一個副詞，解作「没有希望」。
例句：
In face of cancer, man usually feel hopeless.
He is hopelessly ill. Let's prepare for his funeral.
