I don't bother putting a rule book in my bag. I think it is only necessary when you are playing professionally with your friends. For me golfing is just a social sport, take it easy

I don't ususally bring the book with me because this game is all based on honor system, you are suppose to challenge yourself, not cheating yourself. As time goes by, you will remember the rules by heart, which is suppose to be the case. There are not that many rules anyway. You should study them as you play.
