envy??

首先，envy 係名詞或動詞，jealous 只可以係形容詞（如：He is jealous）。雖然中文都係講「妒忌」，但要留意詞性分別。

envy 字典解釋為：painful or resentful awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage

即係眼見人地有一ｄ優勢覺得唔開心，同時亦好想自己都得到佢。你都識講啦，又係羨慕，又係妒忌，從字義係睇唔出分別o既，所以只能夠靠其他方式（如表情、動作、語氣、語境）去判斷。除非係特登要人誤會，否則一睇就知。如：

A: Dave gave me this ring and asked me to marry him.

B: Oh, that's so nice! I envy you so much. I wonder when Tom will say that to me. Did you say yes?

好明顯，呢個 envy 一定係羨慕。

C: Why did you do it?

D: Why? Why did he get all the great things and I always get rubbish? Why is it so unfair all the time? I envy him! I want to destroy his life!
