About interpretation of murder

At twenty-five, Jimmy Littlemore is one of the newest and youngest detectives in the New York City Police Department. An average looking, frekle-faced young man, Littlemore's trademards are a red bow tie and a straw boater hat. Coroner Hugel asks the mayor to assign Littlemore to the murder case of Elizabeth Riverford "because he can't be bought, at least not yet."
