Talking about most ancient symbols in general, some would say one of the following:
1. The swastika
2. The sun wheel
3. The hey bundle and hammer
4. The Egyptian Ankh
5. The snake coiled around a stick (current medical symbol) derived from the staff the Egyptian God, Tuth, (God of knowledge and medicine) used to hold.
6. The cross (with equal sides)
The list goes on and on.
However, I believe all arguments are wrong, because all these symbols are Sumerians (depicted on the Sumerian clay taplets). Therefore, my argument goes as follows:
Until a few decades ago, every body was under the wrong impression that the Ancient Egyptian civilization was the oldest until the Sumerian's was excavated later.
"Every thing came from Sumer", so say the archeologists. In this case, if all the above symbols came from Sumer (and they did), how can we decide that a particular symbol is more ancient than the other. I have not come across a study that determined this particular issue yet
As for the most ancient ownership symbol, in particular, I regret to say I have no answer
Thank you
