The fraction of the total income is spent on these items=1/20+1/5+1/4+1/10
=1/20+4/20+5/20+2/20
=12/20
=3/5

I try to answer this question.
If you add 1/20, 1/5, 1/4 and 1/10 together,
Will become 1/20+4/20+5/20+2/20,
Then it gives 12/20 = 3/5
Ans: Peter spent 3/5 of his total income on those expenses.
