The other comments are ok, but I want to point out one very common mistake.

I went to camping -> this is wrong, same like I went to swimming.

There is no need to add -to-, in front of some activities.

Correct:
I went swimming with XXX
I went camping yesterday
I went shopping

Remember no need to add -to-, if you add -to- in this case, it shows very chinese-english!
