1. Peter 's father is three times as old as his son5 years ago, the man was 31 years old. How old is the son now?
2) A man is four times as old as his son, and the difference between their ages is 36 years old. Find their ages.
3) Peter has five times as many apples as John. If Peter is given 6 more apples, he will have 76 apples.
How many apples does John have?

1.Peter=X, then Peter's father =3X, Peter's father was 31 years before 5years,So:3X=31+5
3X=36
X=12
So the son is 12+5 =17 now.
2.son=X, his father is 4X, So:
4X-X=36
X=12
the son is 12
the father is 48
3.John=X, then Peter=5X; 5X+6=76
then X=14
John have 14 apples

son 144 － 36 = 98

1.) (31+5)/3 = 12
2.) Father = 4 *son , father - son = 36 -> 4son - son = 36 -> 3 son = 36 -> son = 12, father = 48
