即使是暴風雨也不能令爆發或湧出熔岩中的火山熄滅。
因為火山熔岩雖然是透過一道道火山口裂縫噴出，但在其之下是一個體積廣大得難以想像的熔岩熱漿。熔岩蘊藏量之豐富，令活火口不斷得到熔岩的補給而活躍。
下雨雖然可以降溫，但是雨水可以降溫的能力遠比熔岩的燙熱為低。熔岩可以有幾百度甚至是千度，理論上需要很龐大的水系來冷卻。下雨時冷水的份量太小，而且在雨水飄落火山口上空時，已經全部被火山的熱騰空氣蒸發掉。還有，只要我們看看一些海底的火山，大量的海水也不能撲滅海底活火山湧出岩漿，便知道蘊藏在海底的熔岩有多熱了。

不可以。因為水的蒸發溫度是100度左右, 火山的熔岩的溫度是1100度, 水遇到了高溫的蒸汽便會立即蒸發。 但如果有a lot of water 可以令熔岩熄滅。

they don't stop erupting even they are under the sea. (and the sea surely has more water than rainwater.)
so this proves that lava cannot be be put out by water. it can only cool down and form igneous rock.
