You may use photoshop to reduce the resolution picture (like to 72dpi) and make the picture size smaller in the image size setting, and save it into jpeg or other web picture format (like gif.) Of course, if you knowed other image application, you may do the same thing. Example, you can use the painter in window to save the picture to gif or jpeg, the size with become small too.

Photoshop has many functions and it is NOT justiified to buy this software just for reduce the image file size.

In addition, microsoft paint can not support batch conversion so that you need many many effort.
