You can refer to
http://www.thetrainline.com/ for Train timetable and fares.
For example:
Outward journey: Friday 5 October 2007 Station Arr Dep Travel by Service Provider
SOLIHULL 08:05 Train CENTRAL TRAINS
BIRMINGHAM SNOW HILL 08:21 08:21 Foot
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET 08:54 08:54 Train CENTRAL TRAINS
LEICESTER 09:51 09:56 Train MIDLAND MAIN LINE
LOUGHBOROUGH 10:07
There are two types of ticket available:
SAVER RETURN
14.20 pounds
STANDARD OPEN RETURN
16.30 pounds
I suggest you should purchase saver return tickets for October and then weekly ticket for November. If you can travel after 9:30am, it will be cheaper too because it is off-peak.
Since the journey is very complicated, I suggest you should leave from Birmingham New Street --> Leicester --> Loughborough.
If you are student, you can also purchase young person rail card via
http://www.youngpersons-railcard.co.uk/
ref: If you're aged between 16 and 25 (or a mature student), you can buy a Young Persons Railcard for just £20. It'll save you 1/3 on most rail fares throughout Great Britain for a whole year.
There is a fee for the card but you will be better off after a few trips on the train.
Remember to bring a photo at the train station when apply for the card.
Hope this helps.
