To avoid putting on weight (肥), you should try and avoid dessert(or pudding) at boarding school and do a lot of sports. At boarding school, they usually offers two course meal for lunch and dinner. So it is better to avoid or have light dessert.
Re: 寄宿的膳食, Breakfast can be cereal, toast, and sometime cooked breakfast with egg, bacon and bake beans. So you can avoid butter on the toast and avoid the fat on the bacon.
For Lunch and Dinner, you are likely to have 2 course meals like shepperd pie, curry with rice, roast chicken, roast beef or roast pork. For desert, you may have chocolate tarts, bread and butter puddings, ice-cream with jelly etc. Therefore a good idea is to have a light portion of puddings and try and have your dinner early e.g. before 6pm if possible.
