who else hates ackward silences?

I usually just say I've gotta go. And YES I absolutely hate them!

me 2 i hate it!
last time me and my 2 frds were hanging out and suddenly 1 of my frds bf came,and my other frd said that he looks like a nerd.then my frds was furious and fought back.after 5 mins they stoped and glared at eachother,and just stood there for 10 mins.***awkward silence***,so i decide 2 break it,and i said ''i'm starvin', come on lets get a burger and something."
and finally she left with me.leaving my other frd and her bf.
but in the end everything came out right!

Well, I don't like them but as in music, silence is a way to communicate something and it can be used to express something is happening, maybe something boring, uninteresting, uncomfortable or a final statement. ...you see. But it is there for some reason and if one can detect that source, we can feel much better trying to reconnect the conversation from the point where it got lost

You can say, "This is awkward, even the word awkward is awkward"! and smile. Then be quiet. 99% of the time, someone will laugh. Awkward moment gone! The other 1%? Beats me.

Wow..I know what you mean I absolutely hate them, my friends & I came up w/ two things to do either say " cricket, cricket" or put one hand over the other and rotate Ur thumbs, then say "awkward turtle". It works every time, every one starts laughing & then the conversion gets right back to normal...I hope that answers ur question and Good Luck 2 U!!!

Ah yes I also don't like awkward silences.
Haha and as someone else said, I break them just by stating the obvious and shouting "awkward silenceeee"
Then someone usually does speak up.

I cut a few awkward silencers before.

I love awkward silences, because I get to say "awkward moment number 1" to break the tension.

I've never had an ackward silence but awkward silences suck.

I love them! I'm the best at breaking them because I just start talking...actually when I'm around there aren't many because I try to fill most of the silence. :)
