I think you had better asked him/her what he/she needs first because this can prevent buying un-useful things or avoid overlapping. If you still do not know what you are going to buy, you may give him/her cash.

可以買一對小水晶送給他們，大方，又不會太貴。又可以給他們的新居來些小擺設。
