夾份買禮物 = chip in for a present既然是朋友，不需要寫得太過 formal ，所以你可以這樣寫:
Our friend xxx gave birth to a 9-pound baby girl last Thursday. We're gonna buy a present for the new mother and baby. Let me know if you want to chip in.
