I believe it is a change made for the sake of the environment. Glass bottles can be recycled much easier than plastic. It generally takes over 100 years to degrade plastic, but glass is basically silica - sand, and can be easily melted and modified to produce new glass products.

This is the type of moves companies should consider making, we have done more than enough damage to the environment we all live in. It is ashame if we still won't recognise it, or try to do something to improve it.
