形 態 特 徵：毒 蛇，體 色 黑 白 相 間，極 為 分 明，頭 部 為 橢 圓 形， 背 鱗 為 15 縱 列，是 臺 灣 所 產 陸 生 毒 蛇 中 毒 性 最 強 者。

生 態 習 性 : 主 要 為 夜 間 活 動 ，卵 生，以 魚 類 、爬 蟲 動 物 、小 型 哺 乳 類 為 食 。性 情 極 為 溫 和，除 非 受 傷 或 遭 到 極 為 嚴 重 的 威 脅 與 干 擾 ，否 則 很 少 主 動 攻 擊 人。

棲 地 分 布：普 遍 分 布 於 全 省 低 海 拔 地 區，常 出 現 於 鄰 近 水 域 之 開 墾 環 境，如 水 田、溪 流 或 水 塘 邊 。

形 態 特 徵：中、大 型 毒 蛇 ，體 色 為 褐 色 或 黑 褐 色，頭 部 為 橢 圓 形，當 其 興 奮 或 發 怒 時 ,頸 部 會 昂 揚 擴 張 呈 扁 平 狀，平 時 很 少 主 動 攻 擊 人，受 干 擾 時 多 半 試 圖 逃 跑。 背 鱗 為 21 縱 列。

生 態 習 性：主 要 在 日 間 活 動，卵 生，以 囓 齒 類、蛙 類 為 主 要 生 物。

棲 地 分 布：普 遍 分 布 於 全 省 低 海 拔地 區 ，喜 好 較 為 乾 旱 的 農 墾 地、果 園、雜 草 與 灌 叢 混生 的 山 坡 地 等 環 境。

形 態 特 徵：中、大 型 毒 蛇，頸 細 頭 大 且 呈 明 顯 三 角 形，吻 端 向 上 翹 起，頭 部 上 方 為 深 褐 色 或 紫 褐 色，身 體 極 粗, 體 色 為 淺 黃 褐 色 或 黃 褐 色，體 兩 側 有 明 顯 的 黑 褐 色 正 三 角 形 斑 紋，背 鱗 21 縱 列。

生 態 習 性：日 夜 均 會 活 動，以 囓 齒 類、鳥 類 為 主 要 食 物，受 到 侵 擾 時 立 即 將 頭 部 昂 起 呈 警 戒 姿 態，但 不 隨 意 攻 擊。

棲 地 分 布：分 布 於 海 拔 1300 公 尺 以 下 的 中、低 海 拔 山 區，以 南 部 及 東 部 較 常 發 現 ，棲 息 於 闊 葉 林 、竹 林 與 少 干 擾 的 溪 谷 等 環 境。

形 態 特 徵：小 型 毒 蛇，又 名 赤 尾 鮐 , 體 色 以 綠 色 為 主 ,常 有 人 將 其 與 無 毒 的 青 蛇 相 混 淆, 背 鱗 列 數 為 21 列。






其與無毒的青蛇在外形上可明顯區分的特徵是：

1.
赤 尾 青 竹 絲 的 頸 部 細 長，頭 呈 明 顯 的 三 角 形；青 蛇 頭 部 則 為 橢 圓 形。

2.
赤 尾 青 竹 絲 的 身 體 兩 側 有 一 條 自 頸 部 延 伸 至 尾 的 白 色 縱 線 ； 青 蛇 則 無。

3.
赤 尾 青 竹 絲 之 尾 部 為 磚 紅 色 ；青 蛇 則 為 通 體 綠 色。大 部 分 雄 性 赤 尾 青 竹 絲 體 側 的 白 色 縱 線 下，尚 有 一 條 紅 色 縱 線。

生 態 習 性：赤 尾 青 竹 絲 的 族 群 數 量 很 多 ，且 棲 地 型 態 極 為 廣 泛 ，由 平 地 到 兩 千 多 公 尺 山 區 的 各 類 型 環 境 多 能 發 現 到 牠 的 蹤 跡。常 纏 繞 於 灌 叢 或 矮 樹 枝 上 休 息 或 靜 待 蛙、鼠、鳥 類 等 獵 物 經 過 捕 食 之 。多 於 夜 間 活， 卵 胎 生。

形 態 特 徵：中 型 毒 蛇，同 時 具 有 出 血 性 毒 及 神 經 性 毒，體 型 粗 短，頭 呈 三 角 型，頭 部 和 身 體 具 有 許 多 橢 圓 型 斑 紋，體 背 中 央 的 斑 紋 前 後 相 連，如 鎖 鏈 一 般。
