識彈電結他就會識彈木結他?

usually if you can play acoustic guitar PROPERLY, electric guitar will be easier to pick up. However, this is only for beginner level. Like any other thing in the world, If you wanna be good at it, you need to practice a lot.

One thing that people start with electric guitar and jump onto acoustic guitar may find that the strings are too hard and feeling pain in their playing. Especially on bar chords. This is one of the reason that some guitarist practice a lot on their acoustic, and their electric guitar playing is so good even they dont do much practice with it.

Both electric and acoustic guitar can be used to write songs. For me, using electric guitar is an advantage as I can work with arrangements as well as writing songs at the same time.

Your teacher is saying it right. you can surely convert from electric to acoustic. But it's a matter on your commitment to your playing skills.
