a copper is put into water
the copper is 70 degree and the water is 25 degree
then the copper transfer heat to water

if copper changes into plastic,
can the plastic transfer heat to water?

yes!
but you should consider it is a close system
as plastic is not a condutor, it transfer heat to water in a very small rate
under the real situation, heat is lost from water to surrounding when the heat is transfer from plastic to water . so we can't measure a sharp increase in temp. in water
but in ideal case, plastic does transfer heat to water just like the copper
BUT PLASTIC REQUIRE MORE TIME!
