I have started an exercise program which includes running, aerobics and weight training few months ago. Since then, I have pain every now and then over my left first metatarsal phlangeal joint. Is this Hallux valgus? Will exercise worsen the situation? Thanks for your precious information!!

First, part of the hallux valgus problem is related to the problematic structure of your body, say the ankle, leg, knee and even the hip and back. when the lower part of your body got problems, it will affect the whole body biomechanics and let your foot and toes twisted. It will harm your what ever you do,both exercise and window-shopping. This kind of problem won't be changed when foot wear is changed.
Second, may be related to a pair of unfit sport shoes.
Both of the casue would be worsen by exercise.
You may consult to a physiotherapist well in sport injury and rehabilitation.
