About places (in on at)
Munich is a large city (in ) the south of Germany.
-- since Munich is a city in Germany, so we use in.
Yet, i will say France lies (on) the East of Germany. since France is not in the boundary of Germany.

There are a few shops (at ) the end of the street.
--rule of using "at the end sth"

It's a difficult to carry a lot of things (on ) a bicycle.
-- rule of using "on a bicycle"

I looked at the list of names. My name was (at ) the bottom of the list.
-- rule of using "at the bottom"

There is a mirror ( on)the wall ( in) the living room.

-- the mirror can't be enclosed in the wall, so we can't use in. we can only on the wall. and "in" is used when we describe the enclosed area. so, "in the living room" is used.
