Christianity, in its true form, is not a religion.
Religion is man's attempt to "get God to like Him" or approve of Him, or look kindly on Him. It is all about doing a certain set of behaviors so perfectly that you think it will impress whatever your idea of God is. In religion, one guy's set of behaviors is as good as another's, because they all come from the mind of man anyway,. and who is anyone to tell you that their "made up" rules are any more effective than your "made-up" rules.
Christianity is about a relationship. It is about accepting what God has himself given to man as a way to reestablish a relationship with HIm.
The Bible, based upon the rules of literary criticism, is a volume of books in perfect harmony. It is not a book that man would have written, if He could have. It is also not a book that man could have written, if He wanted to. It is the very words of God, given by Him to a number of human scribes over a lengthy period of time, that shows complete unity and harmony throughout. It gives us the basis for a relationship with the God that created us, and the only way to establish it.
Is Christianity true? Yes. Is it true for everyone? Yes.
Will everyone accept it? No.
And that breaks the heart of God and mine as well.
There is only ONE TRUE GOD and that is Jesus Christ and
The Father and The Holy Spirit. All others are false!
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

I don't believe it's supposed to be about religion (practices to attain holiness) but a personal relationship with God Himself.
what advice? don't get too caught up with rules. stick to the basics (sexual boundaries, don't cuss, don't kill, communion, baptism, born again)
I say follow your heart.. I am Christian and I have friends who are Hindu , Jewish, Muslim, Buddist, and not religious at all and I love all of them! Ecumenism (the practice of respecting each others beliefs) is the true Christian value, Christ himself was Jewish and he followed Jewish law and in Judaism people generally respect each others beliefs.
Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Yes.
Pray for God's guidance in picking the right church.
Read the Bible for knowing more why you choose the right path.
Have a small Power Team in your church community where you can grow in faith.
continue to seek the lord .

I'm not sure you can ask die hard Christians this question and get an honestly liberal answer.

No, Christianity is not for everybody. Study them all, including their histories. Christianity as an organized religion, was born out of blood, violence and bigotry. It is also the most segregated institution in America. It also proselytizes through fear and guilt.
Study them all though, including Buddhism and Taoism.
Its not the right religion for EVERYBODY, otherwise we'd all be christians.
Just make sure you dont pick whats most common of your friends. Do your research (not internet), actually go and talk to people of different religions and get them to teach you, and make them tell you about other branches in their religion.
Im not Christian because I don't believe a lot of what it says. Like Mary being a Virgin and giving birth to Jesus. I also don't believe Jesus is the son of God. Im Muslim and we believe hes just another Prophet.
To each his own though. Good Luck.
Yes absolutely. But more importantly they must be born again and have a right relationship with Jesus Christ. But Christianity is a walk of faith with the Lord every second of the day. And Bible reading, prayer, and Christian fellowship is equally important. Private prayer time and meditation is most important with the Lord. As our example that's what Jesus did a lot while he was on earth during his ministry.
if you want to become Christian, know that:
christianity is not a religion. it is a relationship you have found with your Creator.
that accepting Jesus is like having your heaven passport chopped"enter please".
that if you accepted JESUS, you do not have to be trapped in habitual sinful actions and thoughts, that you do not have to feel guilty about what bad things you have done in the past.
and if you wan to believe in Christ(thus making you a christian), you must never think that once you received Christ and are forgiven by Him, you are always forgiven by Him. because your relationship with God can be broken away by sin again. believing in Christ is a lifelong commitment.
EDIT: yes and get into an ALIVE AND GROWING CHURCH, youth group etc. get a Bible. start praying by yourself.!
Yes! Jesus Christ came to save the whole world, he wants us to believe in him! Jesus Christ is the savior that the whole world needs! Man can't on his own efforts reach god/nirvana/enlightenment, etc., but we need God to reach out to a fallen humanity, and he did in Jesus Christ. God bless!
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28
Christianity is great. Now you have a nice LOW STANDARD OF BEHAVIOR
God will love you NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO
EVERYONE FALLS SHORT OF THE GRACE OF GOD
jesus died for the FELONIES YOU HAVEN'T EVEN COMMITTED YET
No it may not be/ what do you give respect
when you have experienced the certainty of the Holy Spirit, there is not any reason to contemplate yet another faith. it incredibly is not a rely of persons being obedient to "my ideals." Romans 14:17.
I think all people think that their religion is the right one for everyone.....
To someone who is thinking about becoming a Christian: Find a Pastor or friend who is a Christian and talk to them. A true Christian will not try to push their faith on people. They will answer your questions without pressuring you into becoming a "believer."
Someone once said....Preach the gospel at all times, if necessary, use words. ;)
I think so, but everyone has a right to believe in what they want. It doesn't matter to me if I am friends with people with different religions than me. I just want to be friends with everyone!! :)
Assasin,
Read and study the scriptures with a Non-Denominational Christian who knows the scriptures and is willing to answer any question that you have. Attend Church services and make certain that you understand what scriptural authority is given for everything that is done there. Do not feel that you must completely know everything but do not be afraid to ask questions on anything that you want to know. Have a great week.
Thanks,

The advice I'd give to anyone who is thinking of becoming a Christian is this--read the New Testament. Don't listen to what other people say about Jesus, no matter who they are. Don't listen to other Christians, don't listen to preachers, don't listen to those who don't believe. Just read for yourself who the Jesus of the Bible is and what He said it means to be one of His followers.
Sadly, too many people who call themselves Christian have no idea what the Bible says about following Christ, and anyone who is thinking of becoming a Christian will save themselves a lot of frustration and confusion if they study the New Testament for themselves and know what it says instead of listening to the opinions of others.
Yes, I believe Christianity is the right religion for everybody, because it's the only one that I know of that will accept you no matter what you've done in the past.
The advice that I would give to someone who is thinking of becoming a Christian is this: Don't wait until it's too late! Accept this free gift while you can. Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, and after He had died, He rose again and thus conquered death once and for all. Through Christ's death He provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins. Romans 3:23 says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Christ's blood covers our sins, if we will only accept Him as Lord and Savior of our lives. My advice would be to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and then to begin reading the Bible and find a local church body in which to learn more about Christ. If you are unsure of whether or not you're ready to become a Christian, talk with the pastor of a church about what being a Christian is all about.
