How to set up online shop

我有一間online store 是賣我設計的DIY skateboard products, 專門 target美國客. 開了兩年生意越來越好. 好幾年前曾經開過幾間 online store.以前花了好多錢做廣告 (當交學費) 所以我有以下結論.

1. 如果你公司不是有好多好多錢浪費, 千萬不要請人幫你的website做廣告.
2. internet有好多收費公司或program 話可以幫你website bring more traffic. 我覺得全部都是搵笨.
3. 如果你是細公司, 就算每月花費幾萬做廣告都是無效.

我是用最平最簡單的方法推廣 (幾乎是零廣告費). 不過要花好多時間. 以下給你的交流意見
1. 用ebay每10天登幾件平價貨, ebay seller page內放入自己website的 link. (每月花費約 $10 美元) 如於ebay內賣出一單已經夠cover ebay 的費用.
2. 利用免費的classified不停登出你的產品, 用唔同的 description 形容你公司不同的產品. 當你有好多好多的不同的 active classified ad 於 internet. 人地 search products 時就可以search 到你web site 的 products. 所以一定要用不同的 description 越多越好. 以下是我常用的 classified ad link. 這個工作好花時間 , 不過好有效.
3. 於你products 有關的 forum內解答用家問題, 答得快答得多自自然然就有生意. 不過又是好花時間.
4. 最重要就是你要去ebay.com , amazon.com 做下research. 睇下有無seller賣緊你而家賣的 products, 如果有好多, 而價錢又比你平, 出貨地點又係自己國家, positive feedback 又有好多...... 等等. 你就好難可以搵到食啦!
5. 你的website shopping system 必須要方便 (個人意見) 要有PayPal's Verification System button. 買家放心於online shop 比錢. 我自己家庭 80% 東西 online shopping. 就算是見到好平好吸引的產品好想買. 但是如果 shopping card system不夠安全或方便, 我都放棄.
6. 你的website 要加上 meta tags ,description tag, keywords tag... (keys words), search engine 搵到你的 website.

有好多web design 公司over price, 只希望於你身上搵著數. 特別是網上世界好多種種不同的方式來騙你入局. 我自己的web site是用 web builder 做, 不要請人做, 因為太多人想於你身上搵著數, 欺騙你..... 自己做website利用webbuilder好容易. 開始時可能好花時間, 因為你要幫每件貨加上stock number, 又要take photos, upload 上server, 寫文章, 可能相片又要做 editing ,.... 等等. 但是當完成後, 每天的工作量就好少.

我只用以下幾間美國公司經營我的online shop.
1. www.GoDaddy.com For my Domain name which cost only $15 US dollar per year.
2. www.PayPay.com 2.5% to 3% service fee
3. www.UPS.com Customers pay for all shipping, UPS driver come to my house pick up my products and save me a lots of time.
4. www.LowPriceBuilder.com Provided easy use web builder, hosting service, shopping cart system that integrate with Paypal (only cost $16 US dollar per month) affordable and reliable.
5. www.Ebay.com each month cost me around $10 US dollar to post up my products, if products sold through ebay will cover up all the expenses

I have try E-BAY before and now i have setup my own web site www.ficahk.com for my business, since the design and the system is very important for my business...

later i also will buy the keyword for yahoo.com and google.com to target this market.
