i absolutely agree with u,i simply hate animal cruetly, there should be animal rights like human rights.WELL ANIMALS HAVE RIGHTS YOU KNOW!
There is, and has been, plenty of negative publicity regarding animal cruelty on TV and in the media- and I agree with the comment made by the other writer about PETA and their work. In some cases, yes, they really do far more harm than good. The people in Africa ( such as in the Sudanese region of Darfour, for example-) ARE DYING because of a combination of drought, mismanagement by the government there, a terrible civil war that is much like the one WE are currently caught in the middle of in Iraq, and disease, which is running rampant throught the undernourished population there. When circumstances arise like this, and people are so desperate for the most basic necessities of life, drastic measures are usually called upon to help them. Animals are not considered to be as important in this kind of situation, and they are more likely to suffer and die, or be killed for food. Asking why human life takes precedence over animal life is like asking why the sun rises in the East each day. I don't pretend to have an answer for this- I only know that animals do not have the same understanding of death that people do, and they do not know that they will die one day the way we know we will. Some have said that animals have no soul because they don't understand death- and that is something I will never believe. Animals do have a soul, it's just that it's different than ours is. Why would animals risk and give their lives so freely to us otherwise? History is full of stories of animal heroes who have risked and given their lives so people can live or escape danger. Giving of one's life is not the mark of a godless, souless creature. Quite the opposite, in fact. As for how you can help, volunteering at an animal shelter is a good way, and so is working for and with the local animal control office in your area. Contibuting to and holding fundraisers for organizations that help animals, such as the SPCA and the Morris Animal Foundation is another way you can help spread the word and stop the cruelty. Hope this helps.
參考: Horse owner, dog owner, and animal lover too.
most people have learned their instincts by watching animals.
how many nature shows tell you that they found cures for many areas by watching what animals eat and do when they are sick etc.
I would rather live on open land having to worry about a badger who is only going to attack if hungry than worring about some gun toting thug who just wants his rock off.
There is PETA and many other animal sanctions and reservations for poor and ill treated animals who have been abused and neglected.
Ever watch animal planet? they got great shows on there.
If you are so interested look up a few animal charities.
Please take a quick peek at this web address. There is a list of at least 20 groups that help animals. I am sure you can find more if you just look
Personally I don't understand why someone could just abuse something that just wants to be loved and played with. You could make a video and put it on YouTube that could get alot of responses. Or raise money for animal shelters. That's all I can think of off the top of my head but I'm sure that you will get great Ideas from the other answers!
Volunteer at the spca. I think they help with animal cruelty. If not them I know there are organizations that help with this kind of thing.
Try getting involved with non-profit pet adoption agencies/shelters in your area. I'm an alumni with the shelter I adopt through. I've already adopted 2 dogs. I donate, and I help with fostering. If you can't take in any more dogs, you definitely can volunteer and help spread the word. I agree with you in regards to animal cruelty --- it's a harsh world out there for pets. It pains me to hear the stories of these dogs mistreated, or horses, cats, etc. A pet is just as much a family member as a human, in my opinion...I treat my pets as family.
Well, you can run a campaign about animal cruelty i find it mean toos...but yeah..can't do anything about it....too much animal cruelty around and my parents won't let me adopt a pet.
i hate animal cruelty! I agree with you, people favor people too much and forget that the world DOESN'T revolve around humans.
oh, and replying to an answer earlier, PETA kills more animals than it saves :(
I dont know what kind of cruelty you're referring to specifically, but for alot of the bigger animals (tigers, sea lions, etc.) you can check out sites like tigercreek.org or howlingacres.org... but those are mostly just needing $$ and not necessarily participation or volunteer help... sandiegozoo.org has some other ways to get involved- and depending on where you live maybe a zoo or wildlife refuge center would be looking for volunteers?
You seem to have a very strange way of looking at things. How can the attention given to ending poverty and starvation in Africa possibly be harmful to the cause of ending animal cruelty? If you never see any publicity about saving animals, perhaps you don't check your mail enough. I donate to one or two animal charities and every week I recieve several mailings asking me to donate to help abused or neglected animals.
You can help by volunteering at a local shelter, collecting donations for them, or holding a fundraiser. You can also check if there are any animal advocacy groups in your area and volunteer with them as well. If not, check online. Many animal adovcacy organizations have websites which allow you to sign up for alerts about animal rights issues in your area.
Please don't make this about pitting one cause against another. It's wonderful that you want to help, but people are perfectly capable of caring about and helping both needy people and needy animals.
I don't know where you've been, but there's a LOT out there about saving animals. In my opinion, there's too much of a focus on animals. Animals are not people, so despite the fact that they may be cute and furry, they're lives are not as important as humans. Besides, if there was so much of focus on humans like you say there is, then why are millions of unborn babies being killed every year?
