Probability that a 3-digit whole number contain a "1"= (1/9 * 9/10 * 9/10) + (8/9 * 1/10 * 9/10) + (8/9 * 9/10 * 1/10 )
= 225/900
= 1/4
(Note: the first digit number has 9 possibilities as it cannot be 0, and the 2nd and 3rd digits can have 10 possibilities: from 0 to 9)
