My favorite festival

Today is the Mid Autumn Festival. We had dinner at a restaurant. Father ordered a roasted chicken, a steamed fish, and fried vegetables. The food is delicious. After dinner, we went to Victoria Park. It was so crowded ! We saw many people sitting on the ground and having a picnic. They brought mooncakes and different kinds of fruit, like pears, apples and starfruit. Of course, there were as many lanterns as the people too !

Suddenly, we heard the sound of the firework. We looked up into the sky and all that we could see is the moon. Then it came the firework again. The colourful beams broke the darkness and there were different patterns hanging in the sky. The firework show lasted for about half an hour. On the way home, I asked father to buy me an ice-cream !

I like Christmas because the streets are beautiful, the buildings have all the Christmas lighting display, they all look colourful. I love to see Santa in shopping malls give out presents or take pictures with children, Christmas is so much fun, because I am able to have a holiday and do some shopping, Christmas trees always are few stories in shopping malls with lots of beautiful decorations.



I also like to give and receive gifts to people, I am looking forward to 26 December that's the time when I can open the presents and see what people give me, hopefully someone give me what I want.

My favourite festival is Christmas. I love it because it celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. People eat turkey and exchange gifts at Christmas. Last year, I celebrated a special Christmas with my family and friends because we had a Christmas party at home. It was a happy party. We ate a lot of food. My mother baked a Christmas cake and my dad cooked a Christmas turkey. My friends and I sang some Christmas songs and we opened up our presents on the 26th December, Boxing Day.
I hope my family will hold a Christmas party this year. I also hope to take a picture with Santa Clause, I think Santa is a funny old man.
