the melting point & the freezing point ..

1) In the temperature of melting point or freezing point of a substance, the solid and liquid forms of the substances co-exist ( 共存 ).

2) Take water as an example.
melting point 指 ice start to melt to water.
Because at this temperature, water and ice should co-exist.
Hence, some ice melts to water. This temperature so called melting pt.

3) freezing point 指 water starts to freeze to ice.
Some water should be frozen to ice such that water and ice co-exist.
This temperature so called freezing point.

Hence the melting point and the freezing point are the same.

freezing point = temp. of liquid to solid
at this point, the solution contains both solid and liquid
