Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) ,one of the most amazing child prodigies in history, was born in Salzburg, Austria. He is the son of Leopold Mozart.

He showed musical gifts at a very early age, composing when he was five and when he was six playing before the Bavarian elector and the Austrian empress. Leopold felt that it was proper, and might also be profitable, to exhibit his children's God-given genius (Maria Anna, 'Nannerl', his erlder sister, 1751-1829, was a gifted keyboard player): so in mid-1763 the family set out on a tour that took them to Paris and London, visiting numerous courts en route. Mozart astonished his audiences with his precocious skills; he played to the French and English royal families, had his first music published and wrote his earliest symphonies. The family arrived home late in 1766; nine months later they were off again, to Vienna, where hopes of having an opera by Mozart performed were frustrated by intrigues.

His famous compositions include

1. Symphony 39-41, is Vienna time work in 1788.

2. Third, piano sonata 11th K.331
This first sonata the last music movement is "the Turkish Marching song" becomes one of famous piano sonatas, is Paris time work.

3. Opera "Fei Jialuo Wedding ceremony"
It may regard as the Italian opera's highest masterpiece.

4. Opera "Evil spirit Flute"
It may regard as in the German romantic opera.

5. Serenade of "Eine kleine Nachtmusik", is also Vienna work time in 1787.

For biographical information, you can go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozart.

--- If you fancy reading an actual biography, I would strongly recommend two books: one by Maynard Solomon and one by Robert Gutman. (Links to Amazon below.)

--- There is a website called Mozart Project, started by Steve Boerner: http://www.mozartproject.org/. There is an essay in the site about Mozart and the Amadeus (the movie).

--- Yet another good online bio at Piano Society: http://www.pianosociety.com/index.php?id=28

--- For Mozart's letters, my favourite (aside from the complete edition, which comes in 7 volumes) is Spaethling's book.
