1) Mary pay 40%of her monthly salary for her flat by monthly instalments.35% of the
remaining part of her salary is used to cover all other expenses and the amount left is
then put into her savings account.If Mary puts $9360 into her savings account every month,find her monthly salary.

Let x be Mary's monthly salary,x-40%x-(60%)(35%)x=9360
x-0.4x-0.21x=9360
0.39x=9360
x=936000/39
x=24000
∴Mary's monthly salary is $24000.
