are you 大多是用在形容詞或名詞的問題上
e.g.
are you stressful? 你很緊張嗎? (stressful <- 形容詞)
are you the inspector? 你是驗貨員嗎? (inspector <- 名詞)
are you hungry? 你肚子餓嗎? (hungry <- 形容詞)

do you 大多是用在動詞上
e.g.
are you watching TV? 你在看電視嗎? (watching <- 動詞)
are you running? 你在跑步嗎? (running <- 動詞)

用 Are you....? 做開頭,
你的答案會是 I am...

Are you a primary 2 student?
Yes, I am. / No, I am a primary 3 student

用 Do you....? 做開頭,
你的答案會是 I + Verb(動詞). In the following example "like and "want are verbs.

Do you like watching TV?
Yes, I like do.

Do you want to go shopping with me on the coming Sunday?
Yes, I want to go with you.

Are you....?後跟"形容詞"；
而Do you ......?後跟"原形動詞"。
